My love for shimmering leaves is back stronger than ever. It is so fun to imagine these sweeping hills as a sea of warm colors. Each nearby state has a map with its best guess on the timing of peak colors, ranging from mid September all the way to early November. Bath County is expected to peak early to mid October this year! I will be on the hunt for Sycamore and Red Maple groves.

I have been full time in the studio and loving it. There is something about the change from summer into fall that gets me into a stronger focus. My landscapes are becoming even more dynamic as I try to capture these exaggerated hillsides that surround me. The intensity of my color palette is here to stay.

Dunn’s Gap is one of the prettiest views in the valley. The quick glimpse you can catch while driving by makes your head turn every time!

This stunning overlook along the Deer Lick hiking trail. The path follows along a section of The Homestead’s Old Course. This view at the 7th tee is named “Paradise Found”

The inspiration for this painting came from the most beautiful photo of The Cascades taken by Tyler Minamyer, the Superintendent for both golf courses at The Homestead Resort. These have got to be two of the most beautiful courses in the world!
