They say home is where the heart is, for the last 9 months my heart has been tucked away in the Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. I thought packing up was going to be the hard part but it was having to say goodbye to such a special community that welcomed me like family. I know I will be painting these mountains for the rest of my life, they are etched into my mind forever. I am writing this from my new studio in SW Colorado with two commission paintings on the easel. When they are finished they will be shipped back to these stunning neon green hills in Bath County.

My spirit is sprinkled all around the area. There are paintings for you to visit in person next time you are in Virginia.

My largest painting is hanging at Oakley Farm, in the historic North Stable serving incredible small batch cider and beautiful bites.

About the painting

These next two paintings are hanging at Warm Springs Gallery where I gave my first ever official art talk. I was nervous at the start, but then I looked out and instantly fell at ease, everyone was listening with the sweetest smiles cheering me on with their kind eyes. Thank you Barbara, for a great friendship and hosting such a special send off.

We rented a house near The Homestead, which has two very well known golf courses. One piece hanging at the Old Course Pro Shop and the other painting is hanging at The Cascades Pro shop. Both paintings showing off the stunning views from each course.

Below is the very first piece I painted in Virginia. I had just started to explore the area and took a hike on the grounds of Garth Newel. It was a wild feeling being surrounded by huge hills covered in bare trees with the brightest blue sky you could imagine.
