The Untamed
Legendary women are around us every day. This piece pays homage to Montana's native healers, fearless rodeo cowgirls, and women entrepreneurs. Painted on a vintage portable projector screen, this work features bold colors that explode energy. Originally conceived as an interactive piece for the upcoming art walk, I planned to cut out the faces for a playful photo op, inviting viewers to step into the painting. But as the piece evolved, its beauty demanded preservation as a stand-alone, large-scale tribute.
In the distance, Montana’s signature mountains and expansive skies complete the backdrop—my ever-favorite canvas. Picture this piece in a lofty, sun-drenched space, surrounded by exposed brick, natural wood, and granite. It’s a statement art piece that calls for minimal decor, with perhaps just a few oversized, bold-hued furniture pieces to harmonize with its untamed spirit.
